We just had our first leaf baby birthday – yay us!
April 1, 2017We had such a fun year here’s a quick recap for our first leaf baby birthday
Ugh! A summary post for your anniversary? Are you serious? – No ! Wait ! Don’t click the back button yet, we’ll make this fun. It is our first leaf baby birthday, so give us just a teeny tiny bit of leeway okay? Okay so recap…
It all started on a vacation trip
So the out door growing season really get’s going after our last frost in May. But a trip to zone 7a last spring we really got our spring fever going…
It was warm and sunny and roughly 3 weeks ahead of our home bound weather and without our own garden to dig in, we set to the web… picture it Murray Plaza Lodge very very late on March 31’st and very very early on April 1st we set up the site, the forum, and twitter and Facebook and made our first few posts Leafbabies first post please ignore
Passion for gardening, passion for writing, passion for clowning around
Friends and family would tell us this post is an SEO nightmare. We don’t care It is our first leaf baby birthday, and we’ll do what we want you don’t control us google. You don’t rank us anyway …
Ahem… anyway… so we took to twitter on account of Facebook going all clown shoes and changing their rules on how pages can’t post making it all inconvenient and whatnot. Little did we know that twitter is full of gardening goodness. With horticulture experts, allotment holders, authors, speakers and every level of hobbyist and experimenter…. it was like finding home after being lost for a very long time.
After our first year, we’ve met so many great people, had such a great time, and learned so many new things we don’t ever want it to end.
What does the future hold?
We just don’t know yet, we’re having fun right now. we’ll continue to post deals freebies and other musings to the forum, and maybe, hopefully, we’ll attract some other friends to help us pollinate and post there too. We’ll keep on writing blog posts (hopefully better than this one). And we’ll keep looking for friends that want to write too… We don’t judge, it’s all for the love of gardening. We’ll definitely keep adding sites to our news page… OMG its such a convenient way to keep up with all the great writers out there…
And for sure we’ll be keeping up the tweets… on account of you crazy fun, interesting wonderful gardeners and #leafbabies fans <3
