Black spot in NJ

Chances are if you have roses in New Jersey they're gonna get black spot . There are plenty of fungicides on the market.  Hosing down your leaf babies as a preventative measure, and pruning to ensure good air circulation helps a lot. But another good way to control the disease is to cut them all the way back to the ground after their first spring bloom.  See we get a good bit of black spot nomatter what. For about the last decade, we've been cutting back our favorite heirloom pink and white rose to about 8 inches above the ground in late June, and by early August she's back, bigger and with more blooms than ever before...
