A neat trick to try with Hydrangea

Do pink and blue hydrangea have chameleon DNA?

Maybe its not from chameleon DNA but, did you know you can change your hydrangea blooms color? Many hydrangeas will go through a slight color change when transplanted due to adjusting to their soil. But if you really want to shake things up, but according to gardentherepy a soil hack will make your Hydrangea change color!

Its mostly about pH

Acidic soil (lower pH) will make blue flowers and alkaline (higher pH) will make pink flowers. You can adjust this by adding amendments to you your soil like pine needles, compost, coffee grounds, and aluminum sulfate. These help make the soil acidic. Changing the pH of your soil is a slow process and will not result in deep blue blooms right away. It can take up to a year to change the color.

According to gardentherapy, removing aluminum from the soil will make pink blooms. Sprinkle 3 to 4 cups of garden lime around the base of the plant every 3 to 4 weeks throughout the growing season to keep the blooms pink.

The term leaf baby came to us while tending to our indoor garden, paying particular attention to some fresh sprouts and seedlings. We love all our plants indoors and out and they give back so many rewards.
One of the biggest rewards we get from our plants are their seeds. So many seeds we can’t plant them all. Which is where this site comes in. We really want to see our seeds become big strong plants so badly, we thought that the best way would be find and share them with like minded individuals like you! So, sign up, and ask for some.
