Seed packets are full of seeds AND information
February 23, 2023There’s a ton of places to get seed from, even your local library! It’s a much less expensive alternative to buying full sized plants or even partly mature seedlings. A while back, I wrote an article on where to buy seeds that may be helpful. I’ve even gotten some great deals in Lowes and home depot.
Lately I’ve seen lots of people online asking: Where do you get your seeds? – or- I just got a bunch of seeds and wanted to know how to …? I find that companies selling seeds pack more than just seeds into those colorful envelopes. They answer almost any question you could have about growing from seed to harvest.
Seed packets are a huge help
Whether you get your seeds directly from your local nursery or hardware store pop up display it’s a great idea to read the label. This way you can see what to do for your leafbabies to grow up big and strong. Typically, the folks that put that information on there want you to be successful. To do this, they give you a one stop shop for facts you’ll need to care for your seeds. As a result you’ll be an expert from when you take the seeds out of the package until you harvest fruits, veggies, flowers. Or more seeds.
Depending on what you’re planting and where you live, almost any time of the year can be time to start some new leafbabies growing.
If you sell seed or have a favorite place to buy great seed from, I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to share a plug in the comments section. I’m always on the hunt to make more friends that love to grow things.
